Speed is the natural rate at which a character fills their TurnMeter bar (that blue bar under a characters protection and health bars), the faster the character, the faster the bar fills up. TurnMeter gain or reduction adds/removes a percentage of the TurnMeter bar. A character takes a turn when it's TM bar is at 100%.
For your arena team i would make Vader the fastest. Under Palp lead you can use force crush, go directly again (because he will most likely gain more than 100% TurnMeter so his TMbar will fill up isntandly) and use saber throw which dispels the debuffs just applied by force crush and by doing so gives your entire team TurnMeter.
For a resistance team under zFinn lead i'd make Poe your fastest character. He opens up exposing enemies and reducing their TurnMeter. If you've got resistance trooper on your team, he'll get TM from those exposes and can go directly after poe, popping exposes giving TM to your entire team via zFinn lead.
Hopefully this helps, if not, just ask. Most people on the forum are willing to help ;)
Thanks. I'm familiar with those two strategies. I know my Vader could be faster. I threw the 30 speed arrow on him, but haven't found much additional speed from the mod sets I'm using for him. Poe is in a similar predicament. I'll take another look, though, and keep at the farming. I'll be 7*ing EP in a day and a half, so I'm hoping to get a boost there for my Arena team. If I can fix Vader's speed up a bit, I hope to be able to jump a bit in the ranks (not that it matters so much until I hit 500, anyway, though). At what point would Sion and DN become a consideration? I just haven't really worked on farming their shards since unlocking them, I think they're both about G8. I suppose I should gear them much more seriously if I was going to plan on using them, but I guess I don't feel DN is all that spectacular. TFP has a great AoE, and packs a good wollop with his single hit. Tarkin is great for throwing debuffs and AoE. The debuffs work well with the EP/Vader team, so... I've been hovering around 1000 in arena for a while, just not sure if I'm pretty well stalled, and if it's even worth doing much more there now. I'm a little more focused on working on my raid squads at this point, because I still have a lot of work to do there (developing Nightsisters, I just unlocked DT, hope to have Farmboy ready for the next CLS event to unlock him).
