Will Hermit Yoda ever be needed for anything?
I've heard people speculating that he may be needed for Jedi Luke. I highly doubt that since there's no money to be made from him. You can't panic farm a guild event store exclusive. Any thoughts...

As of right now...not really, gear makes a lot more sense, for your arena team at a minimum at least.
Going forward though I'm sure we'll get some new Jedi and hopefully some reworks at some point...so if the Jedi faction as a whole improves HY might be more worth it. Also, like others have mentioned, he'll probably be needed for Jedi Luke at some point, and I can't imagine that wouldn't be a worthwhile character to have.
