U r absolutely right, i have 2 4* lvl 1 ships boba and scimitar. But only needed them to b 4*. My apologies. The post i read said it required 5* dark side ships and i knew i didnt have that many.
Something that is commonly misunderstood is "5x4* DS ships to unlock Tarkin 5*; 8x5* any ships and 5* Tarkin to access the zeta challenge."
They released zeta mats as a way to increase participation in ships (it's how I see it). And they gated them behind needing DS ships despite the (current) lack of DS options. I don't see them changing that cause it would greatly speed up the zeta process, which would make ships somewhat obsolete. I don't think they want that, not with something so big.
