Kylo's unique gives him a 50% chance to reset his cooldowns whenever he takes damage. During raids, this would reset the ability to escape along with his specials.
When this was combined with his zeta ability to recover protection, you could attack until 3-4 turns before enrage, and have several chances to escape. This would then be repeated until the phase was finished.
This update makes it a bit more annoying because now Kyle only gets one chance to escape every 8 turns, just like everyone else. That means that if he fails to escape, you have to retreat and try again. It is still possible to use him to "solo" the phase, it is just much more time consuming and aggregating.
That said, in an active guild with 50 people participating, if everyone sends in five jedi, it shouldn't be necessary to use Kylo to do the whole thing alone.
In many guilds, including mine, you only send in one team per phase, which makes this technique unnecessary and unallowed, but for guilds that are attempting to complete Haat for the first time, it made it much easier to get though P1.
The upshot of this change is that it changes nothing for established HAAT guilds, and it doesn't stop guilds from using the technique, which means it was changed solely to make an already tedious task even more tedious, thus re-establising the fact that FTP and lower level guilds should have things be more difficult, since they don't support the game.
