Banned characters for this Territory War should be unavailable in the character list when you set your defense squad and are also set to inactive in the "select squad" screen if you have them in saved squads.
We were unable to reproduce the issue you experienced but flagged this for further investigation.
In the meantime, can you do a full reinstall of the game and see if that resolves the issue? Thank you!
Same for one of my guildmates.
DN and FOO are available and if picked it will cause a crash with error code 9.0.
