Hey @imperviousyragh ,
after reviewing the video your provided it seems that everything is working as intended.
The problem is more that you are somehow in a stalemate.
As both characters have the ability to recover health and/or protection it is nearly impossible to win this fight with one character alone.

Historically, these stalemates are marked as "working as intended." There have been several threads on the main forums (feedback section) asking for a forfeit option that allows players to retain their earned progress, but they haven't gained much traction and I don't know if the Devs have flagged it for future improvement.
