Can't change accounts on Google play

I am playing on android and I can't seem to change accounts. I log out as before and click sign in but I am never given the option to pick on which Google play account. I am locked out of two accounts on my phone please help. 

  • Holotable Heroes! The way you switch accounts has now changed. Here are the new ways to do it:

    • Switch you account via the google Play App before launching the game
    • Tap and hold on the SWGOH icon and then choose the Google Play Games Profile/account you want to login to

    That should let you switch accounts again

  • Four days later and this is what players have reported thus far:

    • Players can't switch between accounts
    • Some people straight up can't login
    • Game consistently lags every time someone buys something from the stores
    • Players not getting what they paid for in bundles
    • UI/Graphics glitches
    • Game crashing

    Meanwhile EA/CG is not giving us any kind of update for hopes for a fix.

    EA_Aljo​ or anyone????? Give us something.

    I don't get the option to switch accounts doing that. Still loads the same account

    Well, it works. It's a pain in the behind, and you don't actually have to change your Play account, just tap and hold the icon choose the profile, but it does work. But, my question is, why did you change it? It worked fine. Or did something change and this was the only way you could figure out how to fix it? Either way, I don't see the need to even have the "Sign Out" option anymore, since the only reason for it would be to be able to sign in as a guest.

    This was a change on Google's side with how they handle logins.

    And I'm stupid. You have to log out so you can change accounts. And it figures Google is to blame.

    I don't believe this - all works fine until the clientupdate, on one of my devices i installed the update earlier (as it appears in the playstore) and the login / account switch issue was present immediatly after the update. There was no updates from google's side (bc i always disable automatic updates on all my devices and install manually only). On my other devices with the old client all works fine until the update was set to force and must be done. From this time the issue was present on all devices.
