This sounds like a client out-of-sync issue. Try restarting the game.

I have been having a similar problem with battle attempts. Every time I sim my 5 attempts it still shows that they have not been used. Only quitting out and coming back in will fix the bug until it happens the next time I do a sim or battle. I feel like my bug is connected to his bug in some way because it is the same thing being affected in different ways.

Someone needs to look into this.
