I'm not 100% sure how the hyperdrive bundle works. I know it's not 'totally' straight forward. Did you read the 'Merge Units' section? You would lose some benefits of the 'HB', if your characters were partially upgraded. I'd make sure you understood that (and how it affected your account) first.
