Jedi Knight Anakin - Righteous Fury gameplay bug

Product: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes
Platform:Apple iPhone
What type of device are you experiencing the issue with? iphone 7
OS Version 12.1.4
Ally Code: (Find it here: http://bit.ly/AllyCode ) 158-739-361
What type of issue do you have? Gameplay
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Summarize your bug JKA bonus turn only happens once each of his turns. Multiple JKA allies will fall below 50% or defeated during one turn because of how hard DR/Malak teams hit. JKA only takes one bonus turn which is not how the zeta reads. See bug report for further info.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? In Arena/PVP, take a Padme led GR team with JKA against a fast DR/Malak team... where the DR allies are faster than the GR allies.

The issue here stems around Jedi Knight Anakin's unique, Righteous Fury. It reads,

"Whenever another ally falls below 50% Health or is defeated, Anakin takes a bonus turn, and his next attack deals 100% more damage if all allies were Galactic Republic at the start of battle. If Padme Amidala is an ally, she takes a bonus turn after each of Anakin's bonus turns."

During the PVP battles I have been going through, I have noticed that Jedi Knight Anakin does not gain the bonus turns as often as the zeta reads. An example of what I am talking about is the following:

DR team takes their turns against my squad as they are faster during round one. Padme goes next and then Ahsoka, GMyoda, etc. The DR/Malak squad.. HK 47 specifically.. then goes and does an AoE attack. This attack takes GMYoda (least prot/health) to drop below 50% health. Jedi Knight Anakin takes a bonus turn. After that Malak goes and defeats GMYoda. The bug here is that Jedi Knight Anakin's bonus turn is NOT activated.. This also means that Padme does not take her bonus turn. JKA's turn finally comes around and he attacks Sith Trooper or Malak. Fallen Bastilla then takes a turn and hits General Kenobi from 100% health to 40% health. JKA takes a bonus turn. Then Sith Trooper defeats Kenobi, but JKA does not take a bonus turn. Etc etc.

The main issue with this bug is the wording of the zeta and the current implementation in gameplay. The wording begins with the word "Whenever". Oxford Dictionaries defines the word whenever as, "1.at whatever time; on whatever occasion (emphasizing a lack of restriction)". This means that when GMYoda fell below 50% health, JKA should have taken a bonus turn (which he did) and that when GMYoda was defeated, JKA should also have taken a bonus turn (which he did not).

The secondary issue is with the next word in the zeta "another". Oxford defines this determiner as "1.used to refer to an additional person or thing of the same type as one already mentioned or known about; one more; a further". The use of "Whenever another" together does not limit the number of bonus turns that JKA can take. GMYoda is a singular character. If Ahsoka Tano (an additional person) were to fall below the 50% health limit at the same time GMYoda was defeated, JKA should take another turn for her as well. "Whenever" emphasizes a lack of restrictions and "another" treats each ally individually. So, each occurrence of falling below 50% health and each defeat needs to initiate bonus turn(s) as required by the unique.

Additionally, I have noticed that Padme's bonus turn has not been entirely consistent... However, I have not been keeping as close a track... I would say about half the time she does not take a bonus turn.

  • @VakterInExile Hello there.

Malak applies irresistible Fear to the enemy when they critically hit him (except Padme, who is immune), causing them to miss their next turn.

    Most likely order of events:
HK AoE reduces GMY below half health.
JKA takes bonus turn, uses his AoE or basic and crits Malak. Gains fear.
    Malak kills GMY.
JKA does get his bonus turn, but due to Fear he cannot act so play moves on to the next character. Fear expires.

If you are playing on 4X speed this Fear interaction can be easy to miss. Do you think this could be what is happening? If not can you possibly grab a video, it will help the team investigate.

    Hope this helps.
  • I am aware of the effects of Fear and I know this is why they skip their turns the first round. The interaction I described was from the gameplay and there were no debuffs on either JKA or Padme.

thanks for the feedback though :-)

I just ran another pvp match. No fear on JKA. Same result... and I additionally observed that JKA who was without debuffs was not called for graceful assault from Padme. And, yes, the enemy was Badstilla and she was still alive. Either there is a bug with JKA or there is an overzealous bug with DR/Malak that is causing inconsistent gameplay with other squads.

    just my thoughts...

@VakterInExile I use Padme squad in arena. I am always up against all DR/Malak teams. I know exactly what youre talking about, and its been reported here exhaustively, but no one does anything about it. Its comes down to bonus turns and turn meter. If anyone triggers a bonus turn or turn meter boost to 100% at the same time anakin or Padme gets a bonus turn, the DR/Malak squad will ALWAYS go first. Usually, they go first and apply some stupid Fear mechanic that then causes the bonus turn (which was triggered BEFORE fear) to be skipped. It really is a sh*tshow for those of us running GR squads all the time.
