LSB seem to always seem to steel character Shards

I bought the light speed bundle for CUP and I had unused character shards. But I don't get to convert my unused character shards as I should they just disappear. It happens all the time and I believe like most things in this game in intended. Please correct the system so people stop having their time and energy stolen when you buy a light speed.
