I take it this is where the help desk sends people when they don't want to deal with an issue. I will definitely be thinking twice before spending anymore money on this game.
To get the undersized squad in a fleet challenge you can't take ANY reinforcements at all. You can only use three ships total (not counting the capital ship).
Now that makes sense and I'll hold my hands and say I missed where it said that. It should have been easy enough for EA to explain at the time and I could have at least claim some of the rewards.
