The issue has been solved. I needed to do a reinstall of the game app.i was able to back up all advancement by making sure i was logged on to google games. I then uninstalled the app through app manager (not google play). Then reinstalled. It retained all my settings (iguess) without issue and i was able to pick up where i left off.
