Can you add a link to the battle details section you are referring to?  I am having this very same issue.

battle detail section can be found on the screen where you select to battle for the coin. If you scroll down there is a message that says it’s “temporarily disabled and will return soon”. Unclear as to why the person from ea that directed you to go see the battle section instead of just saying it’s temporarily down.
