Sounds like it's pulling from the wrong stat line if I understand what he said correctly? Needs to pull from a stat that actually has a base value like physical offense or special offense. My coding friend says it's hard to pull one or the other between physical or special offense so one type of attacker would get favored, but maybe you can just add physical offense + special offense and take half of that to make it mostly even for the types of attackers
