And is a strange , punitive approach.
Afaik, as a Belgian but not a lawyer, it is the loot boxes that can be (indirectly of directly) bought with real money that the law is against (I.e. considered gambling, ergo would need a gambling license which for video games does not exist, ergo illegal).
The daily webstore boxes are not paid for, thus to my understanding this law does not apply.
This is however creating a direct disadvantage in the form of less shards, resources, and less daily energy.
Not a good look for EA and CG, at all, to punish players because their country has laws vs predatory practices.
I have been having the same issues since a few days. I am also from belgium and find this absurd. These chests are free and not buyable for money in any way so they should not be included in the purchase ban.
EA needs to reconsider their decision and look into reactivating it for us Belgian players..
i agree with evrything what he said its free stuff we can get but like what if somone makes 5000 gems in 2 weeks he wont be able to spend those gems even tho he got those gems free?
If it’s law related to online gambling you should remove all items available for purchase providing random rewards, not the free stuff or loot boxes obtained through gameplay. Clearly EA has misinterpreted this and is still liable for non compliance by continuing to offer the purchase of loot boxes.
This is also how I interpreted the legislation.
If anything, the gungan random nr of shard packs etc are what should have been removed.
Bronzium data card packs are of the same principle as the free mystery chest, only difference is bronziums are shown in the store ingame and mystery chests on your webstore ..
Can't the free mystery chest also just appear in the ingame store then? Problem solved, Belgium players very happy!
However if this is a permit/legal issue of some kind, it would have been nice to make a forum announcement about it to let Belgian players know ..
Also is this the same reason why some 'crystal variants' of certain chance packs don't show up anymore? (for example 'Relic cargo completion pack'?)

People are saying there's no gamble pack for the latest marquee currently. So I'm sure all gamble packs for crystals, real currency, or free are going to disappear for your country.
This is clearly wrong here!
Free packs aren't against the law, neither are the crystals packs, like the 1299 packs to buy shards for the new Obi-Wan for instance.
Give this back please, we're clearly in a BIG disadvantage here!

We had the free gifts with previous web store... For Years...
I bought cristal Yesterday to up the New toon padawan Kenobi... But i can't go to tier 3 of the event like players from other countries. So i can't get the dayli event shards for this toon.
Any compensation planned for belgian players ?
To be fair: those Padawan Kenobi packs *are* gambling:
You bought crystals with real money, to use on a pack containing a random amount of shards. --> Gambling.
But to remove the free daily packs is very harsh for all Belgian players.
Make it into a free calendar then, day 1 = this type of energy, shards of this character, and this resource.
Still accessible on webstore.
Are you saying every player other than people connecting from Belgium can buy 1300 cristal packs, get shards, and advance in the game?

This is just absurd that they remove the 1299 packs marquee packs. The 500 relic packs etc...
I'm a 5 year old free to play player and I've worked my * off to compete against the very best players.
I almost have 10m GP and did all this by collecting my resources and spending it the right way. Being #1 in the fleet arena for months to build up a fair amount of crystals to spend on those packs. Now that they are removed, there is no possible way for me & other countries to keep up.

Well, since you can't buy 1300 cristal pack for shards, you can't lvl up to 7 stars your new character, because now your only option is 36 euro for 30 shards - one time purchase.
That is regardless of the way you obtained your cristals -saving, playing gac or fleet arena, buying chests with real money.
No belgian will ever be able to "buy" a character.
So yes, compensation for belgian players is a credible request.
Hello,
For the past week or two all the crystal packs have disappeared from my in game store I don't understand why this happened but I cannot find any. However they are available on the web store with the exception of the exclusive in-game store packs, I was trying to buy the end of season GAC Zeta/Omega pack but never got the pop-up.
I was wondering if anyone had an idea what would be the reason for this. I was told maybe it is because my account is listed as originating from Belgium however this would be weird as I live in the Netherlands
