Stuck on "checking for updates"

I'm running Android and am stuck on the checking for updates screen. This started this morning. When I use data I'm stuck but can get on sometimes with WiFi. How do I fix this?

Could you try connecting with T-Mobile data again and see if you're able to play?

I am able to play using T-Mobile data.

Everything. Seems to be working fine today. It was just over the weekend, the game was not working. Once I launched the game, it was stuck on the loading screen. It would not let me log in. After many attempts, it finally let me log in, but was get stuck on a loading screen after about 30 secs of playing.

But today, everything is working fine.
