SWGoH Territory Wars team balance

So I am apart of Thighbone Toothpick guild in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. Our guild GP is 108 Million. We got paid up to face a guild that is 141 Million GP?

Of course before battle we check out swgoh.gg to see what we are getting into to better place defense and attack crews, while researching the other guild we found out that we are negative 33 Million GP from this guild? How are we suppose to compete with that.. I have got support from EA help which they suggested that I make a forum threat / post on it to see if other guilds are experiencing this problem also?

Our Guild:

  • Hi @Ffighterkyle 🙂

The support team often direct players here to report potential Bugs. If you feel this is the result of a bug, please create a Bug Report as there are some fields of information that would be needed in order to investigate/replicate it.  We also have a forum feature that enables members to show how many players are also experiencing that issue if they click on the "Me Too" button which sounds like what you're describing with "to see if other guilds are experiencing this problem also".

On Matchmaking though, if you're interested in the Territory Wars matchmaking system, CG_RyDiggs shared insights in this thread "[Dev Post] Matchmaking Clarification post: 3/15", such as:

"Matchmaking uses multiple parameters. As a primary consideration, matchmaking identifies the strongest characters/ships expected to be used by each participant in the Territory War and assigns a value to each roster. Then it looks for the single strongest squads and compares them to each other. Matchmaking then aggregates these criteria for the guild and finds the opponent that is most similar.

Comparing Guild Galactic Power (GP), Active GP, or # of participants can be misleading.
    "

Essentially, the GP difference isn't necessarily an indicator of being paired against a stronger roster or team. Another developer post, If you'd like to read more, would be G_154M's replies to some TW matching Q's in the "Developer Q&A - May 29th" thread.

@Ffighterkyle Additionally if the other guild had many members not sign up, then there shouldn't be a GP imbalance. If 11-12 if their players didn't register, then the remaining 38-39 should have a combined GP of ~108M, and you would have only assigned 19-20 squads per zone instead of the full 25. Does that describe approximately what happened?
  • I am unsure they could of had some people not join but either way they destroyed us hard core. They had top tier people while only 4-6 of our members have that.

@Ffighterkyle Anytime there is a significant GP variance, there is a reduced number of squads to set.

Now their players likely had a higher average GP so are perhaps more effective, but sometimes matchups are favorable and sometimes they are unfavorable. Such is life.
