"FIXME: WMP" Red Screen in The Sims 1 – Stuck After EA Logo

Hi. Unfortunately I am unable to play this version of the game.  The game launches but gets stuck on a red screen with a "FIXME: WMP" error. You can hear the EA logo sound, but nothing else happens....

Renaming the intro made it crash immediately haha. What did you rename it to?

It doesn’t technically crash; it stays "responsive," meaning I don’t get the usual Windows "Program is not responding" pop-up. It just stops doing anything. After the logo, it stays on a red screen with no sound.

I’ll upload the file later when I get home, if it got generated.

just changed it to eag_usa, I have to do that or the game crashes at startup lol
