My The Sims 1 won't stop screen flickering
I got The Sims 1 Legacy and now I can't play it cause everytime I get into the game my screen starts to flicker, coming into the game and my PC Desktop. It keeps flashing and changing screens non-stop, from the game interface to my desktop screen, and vice versa. Could anyone who has faced this issue help me?52Views1like1CommentThe Sims™ Legacy Collection won't Launch - Crashes without error
Hello! I recently updated my PC to have a RTX 5080 graphics card and AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D processor. It runs Windows 11 Pro. After reinstalling The Sims™ Legacy Collection, it fails to launch. Crashing immediately, without any error messages. The icon just flashes in the task bar. I have been looking through the forums and none of the suggestions have been able to help me resolve this issue. I have tried the following: Have the latest version of the game installed Installed the latest windows updates Updated my graphics card drivers Configured windows to launch the game in low power mode Tried launching the game in Windows XP compatibility mode - as administrator Tried reinstalling the Microsoft redistributables from 2015 and newer. Collected my DxDiag and Vulkan info logs Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!592Views3likes12CommentsSims 1 Legacy too zoomed in and blurry
I've been playing since the Legacy version was released. I had relatively few problems and the scaling was fine, everything looked really nice still and was clear and readable. I just launched it for the first time in about a month, and suddenly it's all blurred and in terrible resolution. I've changed nothing on my computer, everything is the same as it was when I first played. Did an update mess something up, or did something else happen? I'm running Windows 11, 1920x1080p, new-ish graphics card (Nvidia model within the last few years). Basically nothing has changed, I haven't even changed any system settings.122Views0likes2CommentsBrand New PC... Game Won't Start
Hey, everyone. I've attached the specs of my new PC here. Any ideas on how to get the game to start? I just get a black screen and sometimes some sound. It messes my PC up so much that the task manager even crashes. The EA Error Reporter app just freezes when I try to submit a report. Insanely frustrating!86Views0likes0CommentsStuttering when moving mouse.
I've recently changed from an intel MacBook Pro with windows 10 to a HP gaming laptop. The Macbook played the game fine, but now that I have a my new computer moving the mouse makes the game stutter. The whole game can grind to a halt if i rapidly move my mouse pointer around. It doesn't matter if I use the trackpad or an actual mouse. I should add that i've noticed that moving the mouse doesn't cause lag if you move the camera. So if I hold the right mouse button while the game is running the stuttering doesn't happen. Another thing i've noticed is that the mouse cursor flickers while playing. I did a clean install of Windows 11 and installed the game first thing, and the issue is still there. I conclusion, whenever I move the mouse cursor in game the game stutters and the cursor itself flickers. I've been doing some research and other people have reported similar issues in other games, their culprits are everything from background programs/apps to mouse polling rates. I've tried it all.147Views0likes2CommentsThe Sims Unleashed (Win98) - Crashes, Missing Objects
I should note that this is for The Sims Unleashed on CD-ROM, not The Sims Legacy. The Sims Legacy won't launch on my Windows 10 computer, so I brought my original Sims computer out of storage. When I last played The Sims on it, probably in the late 2000s, as far as I can recall everything was working. I've noticed that on entering a fair number of lots, the game simply crashes. On others, they load, but give a Missing Objects warning. On one lot I could tell it was the dining room table, but on others it's not necessarily obvious - most objects are there. How can I debug these issues? Are there log files that might say which objects are missing or why the crash happened? I'd like to be able to see the lots that I created way back in the day, especially the one that mirrored the house I grew up in, which is unfortunately one of the ones that crashes. I'm running Windows 98 SE, with 512 MB of RAM, a 450 MHz Pentium II processor, and an 8 MB Matrox Millennia G200 graphics card, with The Sims running in 800x600 mode. There have been a few changes to this machine since I last played The Sims on it, including switching to an SSD (but with the original partitions copied over), upgrading to Windows 98 Second Edition (from Windows 98 FE), adding more RAM (originally 128 MB), and that the DVD drive, which is original, switched letters at some point. I still have the original hard drive and RAM somewhere, so I could roll those back (and with it, the SE upgrade), but am hoping there might be a way to diagnose the problem before trying those steps. Bonus points if the diagnostics could also apply to The Sims Legacy. I'm pleasantly surprised that the original is partially working on 26-year-old hardware, but had been hoping the new one would work and I could migrate the lots from the original to it.113Views0likes1CommentTranslation Issue in Game Settings
I would like to report a spelling error in the Brazilian Portuguese language settings of the game. I noticed that the word "Voice" is incorrectly translated as "Vox". The correct translation should be "Voz", with a "z" at the end instead of an "x".67Views0likes1Comment
