In The sims 1 my Sim disappears after if I try to go home after going to town

I just downloaded The sims legacy and I managed to play it for 3h but, when I go to another town or the park, and I try to go home I grab a taxi and my sim just disappears, the game takes me to a emp...

Is the Old Town shuttle showing up as an interaction in the top left corner? Normally that should stay there for a few seconds and then the Sim(s) come back home. If they still haven’t come back (even after pressing Speed 3), try using the “prepare_lot” cheat, by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del, and then typing that cheat. :)
