Sims 1 crashing when clicking Create Household button

Question

Hi, Is there anywhere I need to actively download the recent patches or will they be there utomatically? Only just bought the game today (15-2-25). I can't play it at all yet because is crashes when clicking the Create Household button. (software up-to-date 15-2-25) Thank you.

Sims 1 Legacy empty neighborhood | EA Forums - 11892990please disregard my last comment, supposedly, the solution here can fix the issue. :)
