Sims 1 Legacy Crashing After Select Create a Family

Hello,

First of all I don't get any vulkan error. My problem is that the game closes for the three reasons I wrote below. I tested something and I want to show you. My DxDiag and vulkaninfo reports are attached also. I bought this game from Steam. I installed a lot of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable things to solve (Maybe after I installed these kind of C++ library, I passed the grey loading screen and see the map).

Also you can see my hardware specs in DxDiag so I don't write anything about it here.

  1. After the grey loadingscreen the game closes suddenly and returns to desktop.Now %99 I can pass this and reach the map.
  2. When I want to click Create a Family menu the game crashes and returns to desktop.
  3. When I want to switch Downtown menu. The game crashes and returns to desktop.

Also what is 116?

When I want to switch another map I can, except Downtown. But there is no object on the map.

When I want to Create a Family in Magic Town View. The menu works. But I get an error.

    I found a solution. 

    Go to:

    - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims Legacy Collection

    - Copy the folder named all "UserData" (Also UserData2,3,4 up to 8, those are the extra neighborhoods)

    -Paste all "UserData"(and UserData2,3,etc) in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Saved Games\Electronic Arts\The Sims 25

    Wanted to reply to say I'm experiencing exactly the same issues.

    First start-up crashes the game on the grey loading screen. Starting it again gets to the home screen with blank neighborhoods. I can click on any of them except Downtown, which crashes the game. I cannot click to create a new family, as it crashes the game. None of the crashes give pop-ups or error reports/numbers.

    I'm launching from Steam. I just installed it today and the patches are up-to-date. Computer and graphics card are up-to-date. Attached is my dxdiag.

    WOW! This game needs a lot more updating. The UI, the crashes, etc. Amazing game otherwise! Hopefully these things can get ironed out

    thank you, this worked for me too! Only difference was the location of my " the sims 25" folder. on my steam deck this is the file path:

     /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/3314060/pfx/dosdevices/c:/users/steamuser/Saved Games/Electronic Arts/The Sims 25.

    thought i would add it in case any else had trouble finding the path on steamdeck!

    This issue should be resolved now.  For anyone still who is missing any neighborhood data (sims, lots, whatever), or whose game is crashing after the initial video but before loading into a household, you can try reseting your user data.  If you're not attached to your save, please go here:

    C:\Users\your username\Saved Games\Electronic Arts

    and remove or rename the "The Sims 25" folder.  This will reset all your in-game progress, and the files and subfolders should populate as normal now.

    If you still see missing neighborhood data after a reset of the Sims 25 folder, please post in the thread linked below stating what is missing and what platform (EA App, Steam, Epic) you're using.
