Just bought the birthday bundle to get both the original Sims and Sims 2. I started playing the original Sims and only got maybe an hour in before the game crashed. Booted it up again and had the same issue. My computer is on Windows 11. The first time it crashed while I was creating a family. The second time was while I was in buy mode.

I copied the whole folders of "Characters" and "Houses" and a file "Neighborhood.iff" to that new UserData folder, and it did restore my family/house but unfortunately it doesn't work. Still crashes after less than a minute. Should I try copying only specific files from those folders? If so, which ones should I look for?
It seems like the crash is strictly connected with my family, as now I tried some basegame family household and it didn't crash. It doesn't crash in the menu, map or build/buy mode. Only on gameplay, when the time goes. I'm 100% sure it's about interactions between my sim (the family I play long time) and a dog/cat/any pet. I put a sign "no pets" and it fixed the problem at least temporaily. Still, if a stray comes and begs for attention, it crashes.

My game also started crashing after several hours of gameplay on the same family. It doesn't matter what the sims are doing, the game just becomes an unstable mess after a while.
I installed The Sims 1 two days ago and so far I don’t have a solution. I’ve done EVERYTHING that was suggested, I downloaded the updated C++, ran it as administrator, and changed the compatibility settings. It doesn’t work in any way. I don’t know what else to do. Can someone help me?
Don't know if you can help, but my Sims 1 will start, but when i go to the house, no objects show, no building, nothing. Anyone else having this issue?

Was working perfectly fine yesterday, started crashing earlier today. First once every couple sim days, and now crashes within a minute of loading up the family. :(
I've restarted my laptop
Unplugged cooling fan, mouse and charged, restarted laptop again. Has made no difference

I am having the exact same problem. I honestly should have known better than to buy anything from ea few days after launching. Absolutely angry and will probably wait to play until it's fixed.
I have the same feeling. This was the first time I bought something from EA after many years. What they are doing to us is a real letdown. I've been playing The Sims since the beginning, and this is a lack of respect for those who have so much admiration for the game franchise.
