Sims 1 Legacy; Empty World + Crash in CAS

For starters; I am playing this through Steam and not the EA app.

My main issue is that while my game starts up just fine and when it opens up to the map view, all the lots are empty.

This includes all the expansion towns as well.

When I click on CAS/Create-A-Family, my game crashes.

I haven't seen anyone else have this issue and I'm wondering if there are any possible fixes for it.

    C:\Users\your username\Saved Games\Electronic Arts

and move the "The Sims 25" folder to the desktop.  Then try again to play, and let me know what you see.  If either problem is still present, please open the new "The Sims 25" folder, and UserData inside, and post a screenshot of the contents.

This absolutely worked! Thank you so much! I'm not sure how I didn't think of this sooner, but I really appreciate this as you were the only person that helped me.

Hello I tried this and it didn't work, I tired validating my files, and re installing the game

  • puzzlezaddictI am uninstalling and reinstalling on a new Steam deck that I purchased today to play this game, and I am still experiencing this issue. Any tips?

  • Admiral_sloth  Are you seeing exactly the same issue, or something else?  A screenshot would be helpful even if it's just to confirm this is your issue too.

angelicapixels  I don't know where Steam files are stored, but this particular folder needs to be somewhere in order for the game to work at all.  Your best bet is a Steam forum, and you can ask about the Saved Games folder specifically.  The Saved Games folder is a Windows folder that Steam OS would have to create or mimic in order to run a variety of Windows games.
