That's so annoying, they are always giving new translations to old characters. In Brazilian Portuguese is just like that, Brad Burb is Bráulio Campos in The Sims 1 and Brad Subúrbio in The Sims 2. Just give them the same name or don't translate names anymore!
I mean, to be fair, names just aren't translated anymore aside from a few exceptions like Robin Banks or Trashley Reelpearson (and I'm personally a fan of names feeling local in a way). However, I think for lore consistency names are important to be translated consistently in all entries...
I may make a more detailed version of this with the names in all languages for TS1 (and possibly TS2). Apparently, TS1 is the game with most of these differences because TS2 was the game that properly settled the translations and the lore per se.
