Still Crashing to desktop despite patch on 2/6

My game, despite the patch today, still crashes after 10 seconds of being in-game. This growingly frustrating as I bought the bundle for a pretty penny, and I can't even play it now. Same with Sims 2, it's constantly crashing as well despite the patches.

I don't get any error message, it just crashes to desktop. I have tried all the tips and tricks in forums threads here, on reddit, on steam. Nothing works.

I tried deleting the last save in the folder, and it worked for about 30mins before the crash happened again. This time my sim was just chilling in the hot tub. So it's just not one isolated activity or event the sim is doing. My sim has done something different in all crashes, and it's all the same. If EA can't figure out a solution, I hope they let steam issue refunds. Because I paid $40 for the bundle, and I can't even fully enjoy it before it crashes. And having to lose all my saves and start fresh every time it happens, is not $40 well spent. I didn't buy the sims bundle to do "speed runs" before the crashes start.

  • zettaira  Thanks for the info.  I flagged this thread in case someone from EA wants to investigate.  No idea whether you'll hear from anyone, but I would suggest testing again after the next patch, whenever that is, to see if anything has changed.

katalevitz  Please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

RenMcCo  Please update the driver for your Nvidia graphics card.  Go here:

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/

Choose GeForce, GTX 16 series (laptops), GTX 1650, Windows 11, and download the Game Ready Driver.  Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart your computer afterwards and before trying to play.

If this doesn't help, please test again after the next patch, whenever it's released.  And if you still can't play then, please create a new thread saying what you did here, and provide a fresh dxdiag.
