The Sims 1 Legacy Collection: Black screen issue (not crashing)

Question

Playing it on Steam, with the Feb 6th update.

When opening up The Sims 1, the screen turns completely black and will remain stuck like this (I've tried waiting for over 10 minutes). Clicking or typing does nothing.

However, if I press "Alt" + "Tab" to tab out and back into the game, the loading music plays, and the town map appears soon after. The game is fully playable after that, though I'm needing to press Alt + Tab every time I boot up the game.

I have the same issue on my laptop, but I actually have to re-name the intro video to progress lol, I just made a post here too if you’re interested :)

crimsontadpoles&nbsp; I don't know that this is the issue, but the page file on your computer is almost all used.&nbsp; It's worth increasing the size in general, whether it helps with Sims 1 or not.&nbsp; Here's how (option one):

I 'd suggest setting the minimum to 12288 and the max to 16384.&nbsp; Restart afterwards.

I tried the suggestion to increase the page file and then restart, but that didn't fix the issue for me.
