The Sims 1 Legacy Collection: Black screen issue (not crashing)

crimsontadpoles  I don't know that this is the issue, but the page file on your computer is almost all used.  It's worth increasing the size in general, whether it helps with Sims 1 or not.  Here's how (option one):

I 'd suggest setting the minimum to 12288 and the max to 16384.  Restart afterwards.
