one of the cheats that worked in a way back in 2000 called 'Move_objects on' could move/delete a sim. which when deleted and followed up by clicking on the portrait of the sim resulted in your sim having all needs fully green.
This was in my situation a big part of being a very casual gamer in the sims 1.
I'm having the same issue. I hope they fix it. They need to fix this screen resolution issue too because it fills the screen and looks smooth but it's all way too tiny. I can't see it properly. I am getting a headache from squinting trying to look through the menus and catalogues in build/buy mode. The directions they gave us to cycle through the screen options by pressing Alt+Enter doesn't work. It puts it into a large window mode that can't be adjusted and it's still all too tiny to see. You can't zoom in close enough either. Many other people have experienced this also from other forums I've seen. Please EA, fix this cheat and the screen resolution options because it is very disappointing, and I would rather it be fixed than have to ask for a refund!
As far as I can remember, we could never select a sim with the move_objects on cheat. To delete the sim you had to place a chair and have the sim sit on it, then delete the chair. The sim would delete with the chair then you click on the sim's face in the UI to have them return with full needs 😉
Yup, can confirm you can’t select the Sim or the plumbob, selecting the Sim would give the name of <Unknown> and the Plumbob would have the name of *Plumbob - Standard.
Normally the Sim lights up when you hover over them too but that doesn’t happen in the Legacy Collection it seems.
mcrudd Just chcecked on my disc version of TS1 and using this cheat I can pick up and move any sim and also delete them. Chairs not needed 😉 Looks like it's not possible on the Legacy version for some reason. I wonder if they did it on purpose or if it's a bug.

Mikado-chan it could be that your game is patched. Check if the klapaucius cheat works for you? I remember the patch disabling that cheat and probably enabled the sim deleting option as well. I always had to do it the chair way and klapaucius always worked for me too, but with legacy it does not and you have to use rosebud instead 😉
mcruddI think there must be some kind of mistake. It has always been possible to delete Sims using move_objects on without the help of any objects. This is one of the most used commands/cheats in the first game, and you are literally the first person in 25 years that I have seen saying that a chair is necessary. 😅
In fact, I just tested the cheat using only the very first game, without any expansions, and I was able to pick up the Sim with move_objects on directly with the cursor.

I'm also experiencing the same problem. I tried to grab the Sim using move_objects on and it couldn't be deleted.
I’m also noticing that invisible objects like the Carpool portal, the Telephone portal and the pedestrian portals that could be picked up and moved, cannot be picked up in the Legacy Collection too.
I've noticed that after the update, I can now pick up and delete pets using the move_objects on cheat BUT you still can't pick up sims and delete them. The only thing that you can pick up and delete is their plumbob. It's kinda annoying because if your sim gets stuck between something or just glitches out and can't move, the cheat was really helpful to move them elsewhere or reset the sim to solve that issue. I really wish this would get sorted :(
The issue was fixed for me, and I run the game on Steam, I can pick up Sims and the invisible portals too. What platform are you running the game from?
