The Sims Import Folder

Before the legacy version I had The Sims installed and was able to import lots ie: The Hatfields, Jones, etc.

Have tried with legacy version and so far no luck. Can add to import folder but they do not show up ingame under import Family. 

Has anyone had any luck with this?

    Editing this to say put the FAM files into:  C:/users/yourname?/savedgames/ElectronicArts/Sims25/userdata/import/

    since latest update. 

    Not into program files

    First  time after I downloaded and save the   ie: Hatfield_11.FAM  file I then right clicked on it before putting it in the import folder. Edited permissions as seems I as User no longer had  Full Control.    Seemed off so I went back and checked security on my  legacy file and same so I changed the security on that as well.  

    After I downloaded all the Fam files I wanted and put them in  C:/progamfiles/EA/Simslegacy/UserData/Import.  It (import)worked as intended.  Did the first couple of fam files individuals as it was almost discovered by accident. 

    Much Quicker to check your SimLegacy Folder in program files first of course so would recommend you start there.

    My pathway looks different- the game is listed as The Sims Legacy instead of Sims25, and the folder containing all game files is EA Games instead of Electronic Arts

    jmjfrank  You're looking in the wrong location.  Please try BlueGayle's suggestion.  The game does in fact store user data here:

    C:\Users\your username\Saved Games\Electronic Arts\The Sims 25

    You were right. I had searched my computer manually for Sims25 (and Sims 25 with a space) and nothing popped up so I assumed I didn't have that folder. Found it once I found the user folder you mentioned which I just discovered existed, put the files in UserData, and bingo everything worked. Thank you both for your help and patience!

    (It is silly to me that game files are found in two completely different places..)

    I am having a similar problem.  Oddly it worked after I initially downloaded it, but since the recent patches, it has broken.  I managed to get all but one family into the game before they patched it. Now it won't install any FAM files.  

    My guess is that the team working on this has no clue about how this game is supposed to function.  If they need a consultant, I'm available for hire.

    Did you put them here?  C:/users/yourname?/savedgames/ElectronicArts/Sims25/userdata/import/

    They do not go into programfiles.
