The Sims Legacy Houses Invisible

Hello!

I'm posting on the EA forum because I purchased The Sims Legacy Collection from Steam a week ago, and I've been having issues playing the game. I searched for solutions on the Steam forums, but I still haven't received a response.

To summarize the issues, I'll describe them in the following points:

  1. The game starts without any problems.
  2. When I load the neighborhood, no houses appear (as shown in the screenshot).
  3. I can access and view community lots without any issues.
  4. When I try to click on "Create a Sim" in the neighborhood where houses should be, the game instantly crashes and closes completely.

I've read that the problem might be related to graphics. Here are some of the "solutions" I've tried:

  1. I checked and changed the graphics settings to run the game using the Intel GPU: No change, the game launches but still no houses appear.
  2. I tried running the executable as an administrator: No difference.
  3. I tried changing the compatibility mode to Windows 8 and Windows 7: It didn’t work either. In fact, in Windows 8, the game didn’t even start.
  4. Finally, I updated my Intel graphics drivers using their support assistant and performed a clean installation (removing the old drivers and installing the latest version): It still didn’t work, and the houses are still missing.

I've read in some discussions that, to determine the exact solution, I should attach my DxDiag report. I will include it here in case someone can help me find a fix.

I appreciate any help. Thank you! :'(

  • sammyvc9617  Please go here:

    C:\Users\your username\Saved Games\Electronic Arts

and delete the "The Sims 25" folder.  Then try again to play.  If you see the same issue, let me know what's inside the Sims 25 folder, not just the subfolders but what's inside them.  I don't need every file, but a summary would be helpful.

You don't need to run the game on the iGPU or use compatibility mode.  The former is for the game not starting at all, and the latter doesn't appear to be necessary in general.

Hi! I deleted the folder following your instructions, but when I enter the game, the same problem persists. I’m attaching a photo of the documents contained within the folder.

  • sammyvc9617  The game's file structure has apparently changed since my original suggestion.  So please try the workaround in my post immediately above your new one.
