He stood like that for about 5 seconds. I think he had a death wish! Oddly enough I don't think I've lost many sims in the sims one, in the sims 2 I've lost lots :-(
yeah the way they stand there looking at the flames always makes me laugh.. In 2 I never realized how bad not having a decent cooking skill was and had just put together my perfect little family when the male sim set on fire barbecuing and suddenly the reaper was there-) At this stage no mods and no idea how to save him, my brain froze as the wife pleaded and pleaded with the reaper and he did let him off lol It wasn't while a little while later I realized I had forgotten I could simply shut the game down without saving :)- MidnightAura8610 years agoSeasoned Ace

Awwww. I hate that moment when you realise they are done for. To give sims 1 their credit they actually extinguish the fire when asked. I've lost so many sims 2 sims simply because they don't stop panicking! Even say to phone the fire department.
If im attached to a sim and have a story for them and they accidentally die I will exit without saving but most Of the time I let the game flow, makes for some interesting stories!
I wouldn't have bothered if my sim in sims one picture had went in the fire, he is a little annoying, he's a lazy sim and I'm struggling to keep him entertained as apparently the to just isn't cutting it! - I really don't like my playable family sims to die in any series lol but of course coming from 3 this is easy with the death flower in 2 its not so easy to control-)
I had to laugh when you said it would not bother you so much had he gone in the fire as he is a lazy sim which just proves that series has enough features for you to be able to say that as there are distinctions between different sims in some sims series that''s a lot harder to see... - MidnightAura8610 years agoSeasoned AceI can see their personalities. The Sim I'm referring to is lazy! But because they are broke they can't afford couches with high comfort nor can they afford expensive electronic devices like a good tv to raise his fun quickly so he moans a lot. His two housemates aren't keen on him because they try to entertain him and he's not having any of it as is mood is so low. Overall he's bringing the mood of the house down. I thought he would be a good match for my female sim but apparently not.
His tantrums when he gets up for work are pretty funny. He has to get up at 7 and his sleep bar is rarely maxed as he has a cheap bed. They can't afford to get better ones. Maybe I should move him out and he can be like the neighbourhood grouch?
You know what I love about the original? The Simlish was awesome! - That's what I mean re being able to see aspects of very different sims but did not explain it properly lol So can they divorce in 1? If so I think your female sim may need a better husband lol
Can you do me a favor and go onto the city living trailer thread and read my last post and tell me what you think as I am dying to know someone else's opinion of what I think I have seen in one of the screenshots :) - I still play once in a while. The music in TS1 just warms my heart throughout the game and EPs. I just love the beat and that whistle haha. Best music and sound affects ever in the series. On top of great gameplay. I like to visit Magic Town and duel some other Sims, and see if another can ever become really famous without cheating (hard) and it's so sandbox you can sing one night, tell jokes the next the next or act one day and model the next day. I still love The Sims for many,many reasons. Mainly sandbox and never limiting how I get there.

I agree the music is awesome! And the sound affects are great. My husband came in once to comment on all the sound effects he could hear from our bedroom, flies buzzing, doorbells ringing, sims snoring and of course the school bus and carpool honking! The volume isn't up super high but he's never commented on the sound effects from any other series.
@SPARKY1922 They can't divorce as such, they can of course fall out. My female sim in the picture isn't married she stays with two men, unfortunately as you can't set relationships in create a family so you have to build all relationships up. I was hoping for the point of my story she would like Mr Lazy but they do not get on at all lol - @Cinebar
I am really pleased players are coming out of the woodwork to admit they still play 1from time to time :) I am afraid I don't come from nostalgia as I never played it until I had the recent desire to experience every series and set about finding ways I could do that but I can already tell from the small amount of time I managed to have it installed I will enjoy it this next time around-)
@Goldbear86
I keep forgetting you cannot set the relationship in cas so the relationship requires a lot work before it can move to the marriage level but when you think about it that's more the way it is in real life and the fact that you cannot force them to like each other, fall in love and get married adds a lot of realism..
Sim woman power I vote you kick Mr lazy out and allow her to find someone more to her liking possibly while on a nice vacation :) - MidnightAura8610 years agoSeasoned AceI think I'm going to have too! He can be "that neighbour'" that everyone in the neighbourhood avoids :p He's got 4 charisma points so I would of thought he would be quite charming to people but he doesn't seem to be.
I find relationships in TS1 the hardest to maintain out of all the sim series. Friendship levels drop two points per sim day once they are established and just like in the sims 2 you need friends for promotion. Do you need friends for promotion in 3? I can never remember. - @Goldbear86
Honestly I cannot remember if friends are required for promotion in 3 if they are it cannot be that big of a deal as it never stopped me from achieving my sims career goals so I have to say I don't think it matters too much-)
when i got to 2 I tried play as if playing 3 and it got me into all sorts of trouble because things mattered more and you cannot just ignore whats going on without taking some sort of action so I do think sims 3 is much easier in that way but maybe not quite as fulfilling :)
