I find relationships in TS1 the hardest to maintain out of all the sim series. Friendship levels drop two points per sim day once they are established and just like in the sims 2 you need friends for promotion.
IKR it's so hard to keep them up... and you just miss a few days of taking care of friendships and you've already lost them again. And then, for example when you need like 10 friends for a promotion, and you lose 3 of them, while you build that up, the others drop again :/ But it's easier to keep them longer when the relationship is higher (like 100)... :D- @Sel
I find them hard enough in 2 never mind 1 lol I still don't really understand the system completely but realize its quite hard to keep up with so goodness knows how much hard work I am going to have to commit to in 1 :) - I play it alot brings up memories i also go back to the others cause im just Loving sims :) hope you guys do as well
- MidnightAura8610 years agoSeasoned AceMy initial impression with the sims 3 was it was very easy. I wasn't used to my sims taking care of themselves and not if the worst happens say a fire, they would survive without my intervention lol
I think the games have been gradually getting easier, the sims 2 is challenging, particularly as I don't cheat. I find making friends in that game not too bad, keeping them isn't too difficult providing you call them and chat. My sims 1 sims are a bit more needier. Like Sel says you make one, go and make another and the first is now not your friend.
I'm so glad there's no aging in the sims 1 in that regard! - @ShadowLabrys
I would say the sims games are the bane of my life lol I love the game but sometimes I am not sure if I am playing a game or learning computer science trying to fix everything to try and play the game-)
@Goldbear86
I am just in 3 at the moment adding a few mods back and testing... this part is almost as annoying as things going wrong game wise as I am so impatient sometimes I go too fast then something goes wrong and back to the beginning again lol I would not have said 3 was easy when I first started playing the game but yes compared to trying to learn 2 ( although it was the whole series at once) I think it is easier also I can get up from my PC and forget to come back for a while and as long as there are death flowers in sims inventories they could die while I was away and it would not matter... If I tried to do that with 2 sims I would worry :)
I for sure will have not done everything there is to do in 3 as some things just don't interest me but I have played most of it..I like cities in 3 and tropical destinations for holidays which is what I usually play these days plus the occasional visit to china, Egypt and France... I adore scenery and take a lot of pics at different times of the day 3 worlds are spectacular to look at.. - MidnightAura8610 years agoSeasoned AceI know I haven't done everything in 3. I have all the content but at the time my PC then couldn't handle it. My PC now can but there's still a lot I want to do. Same with all the sims series actually!
Any sign of your laptop @SPARKY1922, will ask my husband this weekend for a full breakdown of what he done to get TS1 working :-) - @Goldbear86
so have you never really played 3 before? I think you will enjoy it especially the open world.. which series do you think you know the most?
Nope no sign of laptop and I have emailed my tech but he is a strange one, he is brilliant at what he does but if he is really busy and you push him too much he gets grumpy so I am hoping it will be before the weekend now :) - MidnightAura8610 years agoSeasoned AceI have played it. I would say I'm familiar up until Seasons? I have just sent my sims 3 sim to uni but they aren't enjoying it, their room mates are messy pigs. I've never touched any of the into the future content and only just started with island paradise. I think it was because when they came out my PC couldn't handle them properly. It was very laggy. Now I have a gaming PC and it runs amazing. I do love to play the sims 3 but when I don't have time for a big gaming session I go to TS2 every time :) I'm actually going to play more of the sims 3 tomorrow once my Sims 2 sims finish throwing a New Years party and the legacy founder finally kicks the bucket. :-(
I do love how gorgeous the open world is in 3 but I can't say I was disappointed when it was left out in the sims 4. Perhaps that is because I've spent so much time with the sims 1 and 2 and my load screens are quick they don't really bother me? But I get how they are a pain for some people. Particularly if the person has only ever played 3 prior to say the sims 4.
I think I know the sims 2 and 1 the best overall as I know parts of 3 well but like into the future I've never touched (despite it being installed) lol
I hope you get your laptop back soon! - @Goldbear86
OMG uni its funny I only ever send my sims to uni when I play sims in in Lucky Palms for some reason and I think that's because I use that world as a sort of college/nerd/tech world for some reason but that aside I never let my sims live in dorms anymore its just too much trouble and really glitchy so I always rent a small house and send my sims to loads of other people's parties lol
Also I just get fed up seeing the same sims all the time at Uni-)
IP has always been laggy for me I have to literally follow a ton of steps in that world to reduce that lag before I can even start to play yet the other day I downloaded a fab custom world I have been wanting to try and have no problem at all with that.. I love into the future as I like modern worlds and the way there is no restriction on how long sims can stay there from their home worlds.
My 3 games appear to be running alright fingers crossed now, however I thought I will just fire up 4 for a quick minute before I go to bed and the game is unplayable it is freezing up so bad., I just cannot believe it never in a million years did I think I would have a problem with 4.. I just cannot win lately >:) - MidnightAura8610 years agoSeasoned AceAw no! My PC decided to do some updates as I wanted to play. Typical lol
I've never played Lucky palms. I was thinking of buying a new world but wasn't sure where to start. I've not played all the worlds a lot. I don't think I've played very long in the world that cane with showtime. I have ventured into island paradise but it was laggy. I've since modded the game on the advice of some lovely people in TS3 forum but I'm not sure if it would help? Mod was Overwatch and one other I can't remember.
