Best Sims game?

Can we all agree that Sims 2 is the best Sims?  The others have their features but I love Sims 2 best.  It might be the storytelling mechanics but something makes this game special.  What is your favorite Sims game?

    I agree with all this.

The sims 2 had more of a purpose especially the wants and fears system. Sims 3 and 4 didn’t utilize the fears and I think that made the game a little more challenging. Like you said trying to get the lifetime wants and earning permaplat was a big thing too.

Sloppy sims getting up from the dinner table to fart and then the other family members depending on their personality would either giggle or make a disgust sound. I liked spending the personality points instead of assigning traits, but when Sims 4 was in the works I made a post that they should do both traits and personality points and they should do both wants and fears.

The teleporting into the cars is annoying in Sims 3, though I know they did it so that building garages and driveways could be built very customized, but they could have done the automations better.

like you said there is so much other stuff, too much to list.

IKR, Sims 4 you just teleport with a phone.  Sims 2 just had the most emotion.  Sims 1 has traveling in hot date but I just got the legacy and when I played it because, I only had Livin Large then and I haven't tried traveling yet, but in Sims 2 they actually get in the car.  And memories are great!  Sims 4 growing together has memories but they didn't do too much, but if my something happens to my Sim, it is more than a temporary moodlet before they forget about it!

  • Definitely Sims 2. The storylines for the premades that actually have an impact on gameplay if you want them to. The way the Sims look (yes they look better in general now, but there's something missing somehow). Perma-plat. I like having that goal to reach for that really has an impact on gameplay. The way Sims step over and around things instead of walking through them. Yes, making them go through things got rid of the routing failures, but it looks silly.

Cars. Instead of just poofing everywhere, Sims get in the car, they back out, and drive to the edge of the lot. Then they drive onto the new lot and actually get out. If you put the car in the Sim's inventory, they will appear in the car much as Sims do in Sims 3, but at least they are still in a car and not using a phone to teleport.

The meaningful way Sims interact. Sims in Sims 4 can be angry at each other one second and laughing and flirting the next. In Sims 2, if a Sim gets angry with another Sim, it takes awhile for that anger to go away. They will be fuming about it whenever they see that Sim and they'll want to fight with them. If you want to make peace and flirt, you have to put in some effort. I do occasionally like relationships to be easy, but a little realism is nice. Memories mean something. They have an impact on things the Sims say and do.

I could go on and on. 😂
