This might be fixed in the most recent update (just came out today) but I haven't tested it. This is a known bug in the re-release.
EDIT: If it still doesn't work, you can just delete the vacation world in the menu and it'll reset your sims to their normal household, but it doesn't fix the bug you will just be able to play normally.
