I have it on disc but it's a pain to get it to work on the newer windows
I do as well. I think that we just have to wait to see if they will provide a new version for us dedicated Sims 2 devotees. :)

While I'm lucky enough to have The Sims 2, I want it rereleased so that other people can also experience this great game.
This gem doesn't need to disappear.
I agree. I have UC, but I want them to re-release it anyway. I'd pay for an updated version. The UC release addressed some issues that existed with Store Edition, added back packs I'd lost when they started making pack bundles, and gave me the holiday pack I didn't have. But there's tweaking you have to do with the graphics files to get it to work and of course it just looks old. An update for newer machines and maybe some small changes here and there to address bugs that were left and I would be very happy.

Yes I would love the Sims 2 updated to play on the new versions of windows
I've been saying that for years, but even more lately. Since they made the most recent announcements about project Rene and an updated release of My Sims. I've never played My Sims. I want an updated, remastered Sims 2. Since they aren't making Sims 5, it seems like they could put some energy into that.
