In game loading

Maybe I am slowly loosing my mind but can someone tell me where the load game button is. I looked it up and it said that it is supposed to be on the main screen but I’m not seeing it. And when I go into the town that I was playing in (university) my sim isn’t even popping up. Could someone help me out because I feel like I’m missing something.
