Old sims 2 PC games

Ok so Im stumped EA hasn't helped at all. I've found my old sims 2 games but they are from when it first came out. I bought them new they have only ever been mine. The game codes are too old so I can't upload them. Can anyone help me. I don't feel like I should have to buy them again when I already own them.
