Promotion issue

There was no issue before the patch, but now there is a bug where Sims in certain careers (Education, Law etc.) do not get promoted from career level 9 to level 10. When they go to work, the Sims are in excellent condition, their job performance is at its peak, and they meet all the requirements for friends and skills. However, they have been stuck at level 9 for several days without getting promoted. I think this is a bug.

  • I recently discovered the cause of the promotion issues in my game. I had applied the moreawesomethanyou mod collection, which includes hundreds of mods, making it challenging to identify individual effects. One particular mod, ‘harderjobs’ and ‘jobfixes’, was the culprit.

This mod not only prevents Sims with maxed-out skills from securing higher-level job positions but also limits the number of Sims who can reach level 10 in certain careers. This restriction explained why my Sims couldn’t achieve the top levels in the Law and Education career tracks. I’m relieved to have pinpointed the issue and hope this insight assists fellow Simmers facing similar challenges.

I had one Sim in the Education Career (1 in Law Enforcement, 1 in Dance, and 3 in Culinary) and they all got to the top of their career since the last patch without problems. Maybe try resetting the neighborhood?

  • leesooyeon89 Were these Sims created before the latest patch? Does the same issue happen if you try this in a brand new neighborhood? Due to how Sims 2 manages save files, some problems may remain in existing neighborhoods even after patches.

Lelana87 Thanks for your reply! Did they graduate from university? My Sims have all graduated from university, yet this bug occurred. I want to approach the issue from multiple angles to find the cause!

mate54 Thanks for you reply! My sims were created before the lastet patch! I‘d rather not create new neighborhoods (since it takes a long time), but I'll try it to check the cause of the issue!

Yes, the Sim in Law Enforcement was one I played through college. All the others are College-Townies I moved in to the neighborhood, so they all have a Diploma.

Lelana87Now that I think about it, I don’t think this issue is caused by the patch. Actually, I installed a few mods related to university diplomas. The problem didn’t occur immediately after that, but I think the patch and these mods might have conflicted and caused the issue. Thanks for your response!
