Sims & pets disappearing - the sims 2 legacy

As i stated in the title, sims, especially toddlers, children and teens, pets as well, disappear once the household is saved and exited. Missing sims are then reffered to in memories as “subject”. It’s not related to cloud since i do not have it installed. In another example pets, once moved in, would sometimes be totally invisible having “e001sth sth” attached to their name (this is an issue that might be related to cloud since i have had the issue up until i deleted it).
