Sims 2 bugged to unplayable and Sims 1 legacy won't even launch!

I am so upset. I absolutely adore the Sims 2 and was craving a way to play it but I paid 40 dollars to get something so bugged out to the point it is basically unplayable. The Enthusiasm tracker is completely broken and my sims are no longer recording memories. they cant even cook or travel to other lots without the entire game breaking. My married sims cant seem to get pregnant even with the tombstone of L and D.  and that's just 2! Who knows how buggy sims 1 is because it wont even launch!! WTF
