Sims 2 Legacy College Bug

Question

In my household, I had a teenager who wanted to go to university. She had several scholarships, so I sent her to college via the phone. She was picked up by the taxi and disappeared from the household I was playing at the time. I saved the household and then went to the university neighborhood.

When I opened the university neighborhood, my Sim’s picture wasn’t visible. However, her name was still there, so I decided to click on the household and place her in a dorm. When loading, the entire game froze. Normally, loading takes less than two minutes, but after ten minutes, nothing had loaded. The only way to close the game was through CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then I restarted it again.

Unfortunately, my Sim was gone. She was no longer in the household bin and wasn’t back with her parents in the main neighborhood either.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Reneetjje Simmerella20 Unfortunately the issue with disappearing Sims has been reported a lot and it seems it still hasn't been fixed. I highly recommend keeping a backup of your saves so you can restore them if a Sim disappears. We will have to wait for patches to fix it.

This just happened to me too. I wonder if I send a sim to college if I have to just play them all the way through to graduation. I sent my sim to college and she stopped showing up in her family's phone book. Now when I go to play her at college, the only person that shows up at the dorm is the townie sim I sent to college with her.

I uninstalled the game, re-installed, and patched before opening it. It was working perfectly until this glitch today. Hope there's an answer for this.
