Hello EA_Cade , thank you for responding.
I have just submitted a report: 44dc18dd-faa7-4546-b50d-f8a209557bd0
Please find attached the screenshot that I got of the message and the dxdiag requested.
I am trying to play the game from the EA App. I was informed by a member of the EA Customer Service team that this was a known issue and was being looked into. I have not heard anything until you replied though, which is a shame. :(
Any help for this would be appreciated. - Kitty121220206 months agoRising Rookie
Hello from Germany, I also have the problem with corrupted files. The chat support said that it was fixed with the update but unfortunately it wasn't. Here is dxiag and the support code

Hello EA_Cade. I am also facing the same issue of not being able to launch the sims 2 through the EA app even after the patch. I have filed a report cd42acb1-524e-48c8-ace5-f481ade37b44. I've also uploaded my DxDiag below. Hope this helps!

I’m having the same issue! I purchased The Sims 2 Legacy via the EA App and am running it on Windows 11. Every time I try to launch the game, I get the same message.
I’ve already tried reinstalling multiple times, but it didn’t help. I also thought the latest update might fix it, but I still can’t start the game.
Has anyone found a solution yet?

Hi EA_Cade !
I am running into the same issue as well, "Some files were corrupted during install, please reinstall." When trying to launch The Sims 2 Legacy Edition after the patch update. I am trying to launch the game through the EA App. I filed an error report, 3a820bac-6fbd-4624-aabc-759e0b6ecc1c. I have tried everything but it still gives me this error.
Here is a screenshot after hitting play to launch the game:

Hi all,
I found a work around that might help!! I uninstalled the Sims 2 legacy edition under the "Administrator" account under my laptop. If you want to uninstall I went onto "control panel- uninstall programmes" as on the EA app it wouldn't let me uninstall. I then reinstalled the game under the administrator account and once installed immediately went onto "repair" and then I got a pop up saying do I want to launch and I hit yes, it took me straight into the game without the "corrupt files, please reinstall" message. My advice is to make sure you are the "Administrator" on your laptop/PC or log into the main account that has the "Administrator" permissions. I saw on another thread about this and others tried it and it worked for them, so I thought would give it a go and it worked for me as well. I have no idea why, but it worked.

Highlighting katherb12345's post here as well:

In addition to this, deleting The Sims 2 folders that exist in C:\Users\UserName\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy may help as well.

Tried this with deleting the files as well as uninstalling. Used an administrators account too - and still doing the same thing. 'Some needed files were corrupted during the installation. Please reinstall the application'.
This is becoming hours of my time now just to try and play a game I've paid for in good faith. :(
