Sims 2 Legacy Crashing

Since launch I have been trying to play Sims 2. I keep crashing trying to load into a neighborhood. Incredibly frustrating! The recent patch has done nothing to fix this. At this point i am thinking i am going have to go for a refund. My game is unplayable. I hate that they hyped this up and then release it in a state that many people are unable to even play at all.
