Sims 2 LC freezes 2nd monitor & doesn't open

NVIDIA drive is up to date. Fails to start & freezes the second monitor. I'm not getting an error. I've added sims 1 & 2 to the NVIDIA control panel in manage 3D settings. Sims 1 was able to launch, but not 2. I can't find an answer to my issue.  I've bought it from Steam, but I doubt that matters
