Sims 2 not able to launch

As of today, my sims 2 legacy edition won't launch through the EA app anymore. It's stuck in an infinite loop when i try to start the game. I've restarted both my PC and the EA app several times with no luck. 

Everything was working fine last night. Not sure if anyone else has encounteres the same issue today or if there is a solution to fix the problem.

    I will mark this temporarily as a solution, but hopefully it should be fixed soon anyway.

    You may be able to launch the game if EA App is offline. For me, it only worked if I closed EA App completely, disconnected from WiFi, re-opened EA App while offline, and then started Sims 2. Please also make sure to delete Groups.cache and Accessory.cache in Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy.

    Just putting EA App in offline mode wouldn't do it for me, I had to close it completely and disconnect first. Once the game is open, you can reconnect to the Internet again.

    Nope tried all that, it does not work and yes even turned off wifi.  Sims 4 yes will load up offline but Sims 2 Legacy will not.

    LOL you cannot make this up. I closed the game while I went to eat dinner, come back & I can't reopen it. I tried both processes outlined in the comments by vinnylately (this one worked for me originally) & mate54 (the accepted solution) to force the EA App to open the game in offline mode, neither one works. I cannot get into my game even after restarting the app AND my computer. I've tried multiple times. This is ridiculous.

    Yup it is , people pay for these games , I can understand bugs but games actually not loading, that's unacceptable.

    Try shutting down your computer, and putting app into offline, turn off your Wi-Fi, make sure in task manager you end all EA programs, then try and get it to play in offline. I tried before shutting down pc and kept getting a error. Also some have said try deleting Accessory and Group folders in My Documents/EA/Sims2 Legacy but I got it to work without removing folders.

    I followed the directions in the suggested solution and the game still will not launch. In offline mode with WiFi off, I don't even get the "launching game" pop up. Nothing happens at all.

    I gave up trying to launch the game 2 hours ago after the suggested solution did not work. I closed the EA app. Now, 2 hours later, out of nowhere, the Sims 2 Legacy launched. What is even going on?

    I haven't turned on my pc today but I did process you did BUT would only launch after deleting Accessory and groups folder in MY Docs/EA/Sims 2 Legacy later on in the night. 

     

    That's good you got it to work.
