Sims 2 rerelease Direct x90 graphics drivers compatibility error message!!

Question

I thought having the sims 2 rerelease would make these errors not an issue anymore. Isn't the game literally modified to play on modern computers now?!

What makes this insane is I started getting issues when going into create-A-Sim and then after getting out of the game tried clicking repair on the game and reinstalling it when that wouldn't do anything.

Then, I reinstalled it a second time and tried launching it and it gave me an error message that the game can't run on my computer. But how is that when I was just playing it?!

Ea does have steps to follow if this happens and the first step is

Open the files on your computer and go to the \EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy\EP9\TSData\Res\Config\Graphics Rules.sgr.
but I can't find this file in my folder?! PLS SOMEONE HELP I JUST WANT TO GO BACK TO PLAYING THE GAME I PAID FOR TWICE

Despop919​ Just to double-check, you're getting a message that says Failed to find DirectX 9 compatible graphics adapters?
Normally, that message would pop up when launching the game in fullscreen (not possible anymore) for the first time or when the Graphics Rules file was corrupted; it rarely indicated an actual DirectX 9 issue.
What are the steps from EA that you are referring to? You can find your installation location by clicking on the three dots on&nbsp;The Sims 2 + The Sims 2 Packs icon in the EA App and selecting View Properties&nbsp;&gt; Open Folder.
If you'd like, I can take a look at your DxDiag and see if it reports anything worth troubleshooting, just attach it to this thread.

Yes, it pops up every time I try to launch it full screen mode. My pathway to my files is different from the others. It says I don't have the legacy edition. I actually have the free sims 2 double deluxe that they were giving out a long time ago.&nbsp;
