Sims 2 Sim Deletion Bug

I got the new Sims 2 legacy collection and my saved games just keep getting lost everytime i restart the game. Its like i am starting a new game from the begining, with all the tutorials and messages appearing. Also the premade Neighborhood townies are not visible in the list where you can create a new family or place a pre existing. I have tried deleting the whole folder from the my documents in order for a new one to recreate as i have seen that this works for some people, i have uninstalled one drive and nothing has worked. I dont know what else to do at this point.😪

The problem still existing... here is what happened to me:  All the sims dissapeard everytime they visit a community lot. The loading screen hangs for several minutes... even hours, and if you restart the game, everything will be gone. No matter if you save the game. EA needs to fix that bug ASAP, otherwise the game will be unplayable. Does anyone else have experienced such a thing? :((

In details: I created my own household. I spent several hours creating the perfect house. I saved the game, and I decided to sent one of my sims to Downtown... such a fatal mistake I guess. When my sim tried to return to her home, the loading screen hanged for a ridiculous amount of time... So I decided to restart the game. (I had saved the game, so in my mind, I thought that everything would be ok) Guess what? The entire progress went directly to the bin.

Edit: I found a solution indeed... Fortunately, Steam refunded my money. That's all... This game is broken as hell.

I've had the same issue. I spent 6 hours playing and had a kid before saving, exiting, and turning off the computer to go to bed. Came back today to load in and the kid is just completely gone. It's still there when I click on the house in the neighborhood, still in the relationship panel, still in the parent's memories, but the kid is just gone. Not even in the side bar to the left. I've added the game to the exclusions for the above so hopefully that helps it not happen again, but is EA working on a fix for this bug?

Had the same Bug where I took my newly adoptive child to the clothes store. It was going great. I bought new clothes for the child and as soon as my sim gets into the car with her new child it then goes to the loading screen that then takes me back to the home lot and the child doesn't seem to exist. I looked at the family tree and my sim has an icon with her face repeated as her own child. I checked to see if the child was in the Sims bin and they wasn't there either. I wish the sims will patch this bug out soon or I'll just have to make my sims hermits and never leave the housing lot. 

I had the same issue twice so far! I had to remake them individually then merge households to "fix" this. Very frustrating

i never got to play the sims 2 until now and i was so excited to try it, but this keeps happening to me as well. not just kids but any sim I create. it's incredibly frustrating since i wasted so much time already on sims that just vanish and it makes the game unplayable! ea can't release anything without messing it up!

It seems to have worked for me! Before my kinda solution one of my sims would vanish, but now my whole family is still there. I haven't tested it with pets or babies, but so far it seems to have helped. I found this in a reddit post and tested it out yesterday and today. 🙂

Someone on reddit figured out that it is an antivirus issue, you just need to make an exclusion for the sims 2 folders so your program skips over it and doesn't flag it. I'll update if I come across the issue again or any other issues. The evidence is I experienced this multiple times and now I'm able to load into my game without any of my sims vanishing. 😺 Just haven't tested pets or babies yet. If anything, it seems to have done something to help, which is progress.

If it happened once or twice, I'd accept it as a glitch, but for me it happens every time I make a family! At least one kid or toddler just disappears as soon as I move them into a house. The game is unplayable until this is fixed.

I tried the fix, repaired the game, deleted the cache, and it made no difference.

That post is just speculation. There is no evidence right now that this is an antivirus problem. If it is a windows native antivirus issue, that is completely insane and they should have caught it before charging us. 

Unless an actual game dev comes out and says it’s an antivirus problem, that is just a rumor.

This is not our fault. It’s happening to everyone eventually, and this was always a problem with TS2. It should have been fixed before rereleasing the game in exchange for money.
