The Sims 2 - does not launch and freezes my desktop

Hi,

I can't run The Sims 2 after installation and Repair. Nothing happens, it shows in the windows bar that it's running but I can't type anything and I can't click anything and I just see my desktop like nothing happened. Since I can't do anything on my computer I need to manually restart it in order for it to work again.
